Level 5 communications writing task

                                                          Level 5 Communication writing task

1. I have been in the hairdressing business for 4 years now, working firstly as a Saturday girl then working my way up to a junior.

In see myself in 5 years either doing fashion hair on the cat walks or fashion magazines, as this is something I am really interested in or having my own salon where I can be my own boss.

2. I have chosen 4 hairstyles and I am going to show you how to achieve each look.

Hairstyle 1:

·       To create this hairstyle, we would wash the client’s hair to remove dirt and product. Take the client back to your station and blast the hair until damp
·       You would then section the hair into a 9 section and start putting bendy rollers into the hair, 4 to a section until the whole head is done. Put the client’s hair under an over head dryer for 35 minutes
·       Once the client is out of the dryer, we would remove the rollers and use fingers to separate the curls
·       Using hairspray and a backcombing brush pull the hair up towards the top of the hair and use bobby pins to keep the hair in place. Once up the hair style should look like a curly Mohican, use hairspray to finish

Hairstyle 2:

·       I would firstly wash the client’s hair and then blow dry smooth with lift at the root
·       Put the client’s hair into a middle parting and smooth back into a low ponytail
·       Use hairspray on the flat part of the hair. At the back take a small section from the low pony and start to curl and pin to the head. Do this the whole way around the head till you have a smooth bun. Finish with hairspray

Hairstyle 3

·       Firstly wash and condition the hair
·       Next apply volume mousse to the wet hair and using a large round brush and a hairdryer
·       Dry the hair pulling the hair upwards to make the hair big and bouncy
·       Using large Velcro rollers. Put the rollers at the top of the head and use head for 20 minutes
·       Finish with hairspray

Hairstyle 4

·       Wash the hair and condition it if needed
·       Use mousse and start to dry with a round brush off to one direction
·       Using gel/wax rough the hair up slightly to make a messy look
·       If you wish for extra hold, you can finish with hairspray

 3. I think I would be a great person to represent Great Britain in the Bronner Brothers’ Hair Convention as I am always looking out for the latest styles and trends.

I love making people feel great about themselves, feel like they’re getting pampered and them feel as though they are having a treat.

I always want the best for my clients’ and always put their requirements and needs first. I give advice where it is needed.

I am an enthusiastic, outgoing and friendly person and I hope this gives you insight into the person I am.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.
